Program Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and monitor activities to ensure key targets are achieved.
  • Implement and promulgate all policies and procedures, including developing appropriate manuals, brochures, and handbooks.
  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, transfer, and terminate staff and/or contractors as necessary to fulfill the program goals.
  • Arrange shift schedules, ensuring appropriate staff coverage.
  • Implement a system of staff and volunteer orientation, supervision, in-service training, and evaluation.
  • Ensure all appropriate daily, monthly, and annual documentation of resource staff and contractor's files and records are maintained.
  • Accept responsibility for the daily and monthly financial and administrative aspects of the program.
  • Support the overall program strategic direction.
  • Facilitate person-centered planning opportunities for staff and service users.
  • Develop related program opportunities, available to the individuals in the community.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and/or professional designation, within a minimum of 5 years of applicable or relevant transferable past work experience.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in working with vulnerable populations with complex health and/or substance use conditions who are experiencing or at the risk of homelessness.
  • Experience in working in a shelter environment, and/or community living, supportive housing, other types of residential support settings.
  • Extensive experience in management of the day-to-day aspects of community-based programs, including case planning, behaviour modification techniques, psychosocial rehabilitative techniques, harm reduction, and low barrier housing approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of group process, individual counselling, and crisis management.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in hiring, training, and supervising staff.
  • Administrative experience and strong administrative skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of non-profit work environments, especially in Housing, the Criminal Justice Services, and Community Living Services.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccinations.
  • Willing to complete Food Safe Certification (Level 1 and 2).
