Position Overview:
This role encompasses a permanent position requiring a commitment of 75 hours bi-weekly. The Director of Operations and Programs is pivotal in overseeing the planning, assessment, and direction of sustainable municipal-type services for unincorporated Yukon communities.

Our Community Services department is the most diverse within the government, providing a range of opportunities to apply your expertise in enhancing community well-being.

Branch Responsibilities:
The Operations and Programs Branch is responsible for delivering essential municipal services efficiently and sustainably. This includes:
- Developing strategic plans tailored to the unique needs of unincorporated communities.
- Managing water treatment and wastewater facilities.
- Overseeing solid waste management and recycling initiatives.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, including First Nations and local governments, to ensure effective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Director, you will:
- Establish sustainable service levels aligned with budgetary constraints and regulatory standards.
- Direct the implementation of safe potable water systems, wastewater management, and solid waste facilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental stewardship practices while enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing operational budgets and supervising staff.
- Experience in administering local services and managing diverse stakeholder interests.
- Knowledge of municipal service standards and infrastructure asset management.
