As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to newborns and their families, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for newborns, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
- Provide direct care to newborns, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring vital signs.
- Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practices in neonatal care.
- Communicate effectively with families, providing education and support to empower them to make informed decisions about their newborn's care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- At least one year of recent experience in a neonatal tertiary unit, with a focus on newborn care.
- Completion of a post-basic Neonatal Nursing Program or equivalent.
- Current Basic Rescuer (Level C) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certificates.
