Job Title: Mechanical Package Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Package Engineer to join our team at Equinox Engineering Ltd. in Calgary, Canada.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Mechanical Package Engineer to work on a wide range of oil and gas projects, including sweet gas, sour gas, conventional oil, and heavy oil facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical packages, including equipment selection, specification, and procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical packages for oil and gas projects, including equipment selection, specification, and procurement.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure a coordinated design and engineering deliverables are completed.
  • Lead client/vendor/contractor meetings and field trips to client sites as required.
  • Size and select equipment, materials, and process systems, and check vendor equipment drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Contribute to P&ID and Line Designation Table development, and provide comprehensive design services by supporting the establishment of design criteria and the preparation of specifications, design computations, drawings, models, and bills of material.
  • Prepare engineering scope of work packages and work with vendors to supply mechanical equipment, and ensure consistency and integrity of all major equipment in accordance with all codes and specifications.
Requirements
  • APEGA P. Eng. - Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years oil and gas experience - EPCM background preferred.
  • Equipment Package Engineering is a must have.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Static and Rotating Equipment Design.
  • Experience with piping and pipelines Stress Analysis.
  • Must be familiar with ABSA and AEUB regulatory requirements.
  • Applicable knowledge of industrial codes (CSA, ASME, API).
