Role Overview:
The Residence Services Assistant plays a vital role in facilitating Front Desk operations for students throughout the academic year and managing conference services during the summer. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate records of student and guest information through various software applications. The Assistant serves as the primary information source for students, guests, conference attendees, and contractors, ensuring that inquiries are directed to the appropriate personnel. Effective communication with the conference team, administrative staff, residence assistants, and maintenance and housekeeping teams is crucial to uphold service standards for both guests and residents. Responsibilities include signing in guests and contractors, verifying resident identification upon entry, and distributing mail efficiently.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A one-year certificate or equivalent in Public Relations or Hospitality is required.Professional Experience:
A minimum of 2 years in hotel, front desk, or residence operations is preferred.Essential Skills:
The ideal candidate will exhibit strong interpersonal, listening, and customer service abilities; the capacity to remain composed under pressure while demonstrating sound judgment, particularly in emergencies or challenging situations; a proven track record of following established procedures and protocols; proficiency in computer applications, including email and Microsoft Office Suite; meticulous attention to detail; and effective organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities.Benefits:
