About the Role:

The University of Toronto's Department of Civil & Mineral Engineering is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student Services & Admissions Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, one-year term position that will provide exceptional support to the Student Services Office and various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for general enquiries and provide detailed information regarding admission requirements to prospective students and applicants.
  • Provide detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements, and coordinate the recruitment and training process for teaching assistants.
  • Verify the eligibility of applicants, maintain a filing system, and keep well-informed on policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Support various aspects of program administration, including document and mail management, room bookings, scheduling, data entry, awards, and finding exam chairs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a student services environment, with preference for front-line experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population in a culturally diverse and demanding environment.
  • Experience using Student Information Systems, including or comparable to ROSI/ACORN.
  • Experience supporting admissions, with preference for experience with graduate program admissions.
