- Employee Counseling and Support: Provide counseling to employees regarding employment and benefits issues related to disability and rehabilitation, leave of absence, etc.
- Employee Development and Career Advancement: Provide information and advice on promotions, transfers, employee career advancement, or enrichment.
- HR System Management: Track benefits, probationary periods, doctor's notes, work restrictions, sick time, and make necessary changes or amendments when required.
- HR Reporting and Data Analysis: Maintain and update manual and computerized filing and registration systems, Human Resource Management System (HRMS), and compile and prepare reports and documents relating to human resources activities.
- Team Support and Collaboration: Provide back-up support to the HR Team.
- Education and Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years' experience performing a broad range of Human Resource functions, including employee relations, labor relations, and staffing.
- Professional Designations: Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge and Skills: Current knowledge of standards and legislation as they relate to human resource management, experience resolving complex employee relations issues, working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, fluency in payroll and benefits plans and administration, experience in the administration of workplace safety and health programs and compliance, strong understanding of HRMS, ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, strong organizational skills, ability to proactively organize and manage a high volume of time-sensitive tasks and work, exemplary interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills, excellent mentoring and relationship-building skills, ability to function effectively as a team member, demonstrating emotional stability and objectivity when dealing with challenging/changing work environments.
- Language Skills: Ability to speak Dakota or Anishinaabe language is an asset.
- Criminal Record Check: Must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
