Qualifications

Education: Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in a relevant field is required.

Work Environment

You will be working primarily in a nursing home or assisted living facility, where your contributions will directly impact the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer assessments utilizing specialized equipment, guide residents through procedures, document outcomes, and ensure proper functioning of auditory devices.
  • Support healthcare professionals in delivering effective care.
  • Implement rehabilitation programs as directed by physiotherapists and occupational therapists for patients with diverse injuries or disabilities.
  • Create informative materials tailored for residents.
  • Follow up on rehabilitation plans with residents to ensure continuity of care.
  • Gather and maintain statistical data related to patient progress.
  • Manage inventory of supplies necessary for recreational activities.
  • Document the rehabilitation journey of each resident.
  • Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
  • Organize and coordinate recreational events and activities.
Certifications and Licenses

Possession of a CPR Certificate is mandatory.

Specialization

Focus on Recreational Therapy is essential for this role.

Safety and Security

A criminal record check will be required prior to employment.

Work Conditions

The position demands the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage pressure, and perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a keen attention to detail. Physical activities will include a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
