About the Role

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement department goals and strategies to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes.
  • Partner with site leaders to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional and federal regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to identify and mitigate WHS risks, and ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our associates.
  • Develop and execute leadership development plans for WHS professionals, and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional.
  • Measure site's performance against published requirements in WHS policies, and drive accountability for implementing solutions to eliminate exposure to WHS risks.
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and regulations.
  • Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with mix of exempt and nonexempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization.
  • Certified Safety Professional.
