About the Role

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement department goals and strategies to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes.
  • Partner with the Operations Team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional, and federal regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to identify and mitigate potential hazards and risks.
  • Conduct regular site WHS audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks.
  • Develop and execute leadership development plans for WHS professionals and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional.
  • Measure site performance against published requirements in WHS policies and drive accountability for implementing corrective actions.
  • Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of resources to areas where the WHS risk is highest.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Certified Safety Professional.
