About the Role:

Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC - B85 is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, the WHS Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Operations Team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local, regional, and federal regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk assessments and WHS data analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, creating and executing leadership development plans, communicating team expectations, and providing frequent feedback.
  • Measure site performance against published requirements in WHS policies, identifying areas for improvement and driving accountability for corrective actions.
  • Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify resource allocation to high-risk areas.
  • Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes, implementing solutions to eliminate exposure to risks.
  • Audit recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance to global WHS standards and regulations.
  • Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure accurate and consistent training, auditing, and scoring methods.
  • Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy, auditing the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of required WHS training.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience leading multiple direct reports or multiple sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Experience in a distribution center or manufacturing EHS with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
