Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Amazon Canada Fulfillment Services, ULC. As a key member of our Workplace Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to management teams and corporate reporting systems
  • Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all corporate program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
  • Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions
  • Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement effective safety protocols
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional capacity
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues
  • One of the following: 1 year of experience in an environmental Health and Safety related field, a Bachelor's degree in EHS-relevant background, or 6 months of experience performing in a safety-related role within Amazon
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in worker's compensation case management
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field
  • Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns
