About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar - Gastown. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Operational Analysis: Analyze operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency.
  • Culinary Leadership: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff, and supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
  • Menu Development: Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, and develop new menu ideas to enhance the dining experience.
  • Supply Chain Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Staff Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
