The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting sales team members who are dedicated to contractual clients. This position aims to alleviate non-sales tasks from our sales professionals, allowing them to focus on strategic selling efforts, ultimately driving sales growth. The Sales Support Specialist is responsible for nurturing significant business relationships across all levels of management and collaborates with various cross-functional teams to enhance both customer and seller experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports 2-5 sales representatives; serves as a strategic partner in managing approximately $150M in sales.
  • Provides assistance to sales representatives for large contract clients (including National Accounts, Healthcare, GPOs, Channel Business, Government, AGI, Multi-Family Housing) regarding CSP pricing, reporting, quotes, sourcing, and other complex organizational tasks to facilitate contract implementation and execution.
  • Employs critical thinking to actively explore unique and intricate customer needs while developing effective solutions to execute tasks.
  • Acts as a liaison among cross-functional departments such as Quotes, Cross Referencing, Customer Life-Cycle Project Management, Contract Enablement, Contract Administration, Sourcing, Customer Service, Financial Services, eCommerce, Technical Product Support, and other relevant departments.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of monthly, contractual, customer-facing reports.
  • Creates Track Codes and manages proper alignment for account, sub, and track levels.

Qualifications:

  • Possesses the technological skills to efficiently navigate Grainger systems and software packages to support customers (SAP/SOE, MS Office - Excel at an intermediate level, Access, MS Outlook, SalesForce, Keepstock Dashboard, etc.).
  • Demonstrates agility while working in a fast-paced environment and maintains a Continuous Improvement mindset regarding opportunities within processes and technologies.
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities with agility, and perform effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong decision-making, solution-oriented, and troubleshooting skills.
