We are seeking a dedicated Nordic Spa Pool Operator to enhance our guest experience.

Situated within the scenic grounds of Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge, our Nordic Spa is designed to provide a unique and personalized experience for each visitor. With a seamless indoor-outdoor environment, we offer a space for relaxation that encourages guests to embrace nature and connect with themselves and others. As a Spa Pool Operator, your role is essential in fulfilling this commitment. You will be responsible for exceeding guest expectations by crafting exceptional experiences. This includes maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the facilities, as well as overseeing the pools, saunas, steam rooms, and outdoor areas to ensure safe usage for all guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a welcoming environment by ensuring the grounds, pool decks, and public areas are in pristine condition.
  • Ensure the pool deck is safe and tidy by organizing furniture, towels, robes, and removing any debris.
  • Complete assigned cleaning schedules and daily checklists efficiently.
  • Monitor pool water quality by taking and testing water samples, making necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.
  • Regularly check the pool filtration system to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • Address minor maintenance issues promptly to prevent escalation.
  • Report any maintenance concerns that require specialized skills to the appropriate personnel.
  • Keep all outdoor pathways and green spaces clean and well-maintained.
  • Complete assigned tasks with minimal need for follow-up, ensuring both timeliness and quality.
  • Support the Spa's mission of providing a peaceful environment for guests through seamless work processes.
  • Engage in personal interactions that reflect the Spa's values of inclusivity and equality.
  • Foster a collaborative workplace culture that emphasizes community and shared goals.

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in spa or hotel maintenance
  • Current Certified Pool Operators (CPO) license
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and First Aid (including CPR)
  • Able to handle and transport pool chemicals safely
  • Exhibit sound judgment regarding safety and guest experience
  • Comfortable with technology and eager to learn

Work Environment

This role may require extended hours and/or weekend shifts to accommodate business demands. The position is set in a dynamic environment with frequent interaction with guests, staff, and other stakeholders. The role involves significant outdoor work in a beautiful mountain setting.
