Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Halton Healthcare. As a key member of our medical surgical unit, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective nursing care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet their physical, emotional, and psychological needs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Recent medical/surgical experience in an acute care setting
  • Telemetry experience
  • Coronary Care I certification within 6 months of hire
  • Critical care experience an asset
  • Physical Assessment Course an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently in a rapidly changing environment
  • Organized and able to work in a team environment
  • Previous experience working with Meditech and McKesson Visibility an asset
  • Strong patient assessment skills
  • Caring, compassionate, customer-focused attitude towards patients and families
  • Able to physically meet the demands of the role
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
