Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Coordinator to join our team at Webber Infrastructure Management Canada Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance crews, ensuring that all aspects of the contract are coordinated and completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Coordination: Identify and verify required maintenance work, interpret contracts, and schedule and coordinate in-house or sub-contractor work to ensure that all aspects of the contract are met.
  • Maintenance Supervision: Supervise maintenance crews effectively, selecting, developing, and performing management of maintenance crews, including facilitating new hire training and ongoing required safety and work standard training.
  • Incident Response: Respond to incident emergencies and coordinate the work of on-site responders, reporting accidents and near misses.
  • Fleet Management: Coordinate with fleet teams and mechanics for inspection, calibration, and repair of the fleet.
  • Asset Management: Manage, monitor, and control highway project assets and materials.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for changes and improvements in work methods, processes, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Work Order Management: Create and manage successful completion of all work orders.
  • Claims Management: Review claims for damages on the highway system for validity and arrange for collection of data on such claims.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Work with field coordinators to ensure accurate documentation and reporting of work as per contractual requirements and company policies.
  • Inventory Management: Work with field coordinators to manage inventory for consumables.
  • Customer Communication: Detail directly with ministry staff, other contractors, external agencies, and the general public to respond to complaints and issues.
  • Subcontractor Management: Work with the Operations Manager/Capital Works Manager to identify and qualify subcontractors and assist in negotiating contract parameters with sub-contractors.
  • Work Plan Activities: Assist and monitor routine work plan activities such as traffic control and maintenance work.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for emergency response rotations as needed for overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of work experience in the construction and/or road maintenance industry, with previous supervisory experience required.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.
Work Environment

The incumbent will split working time between office and field work.

Office Environment: The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand and/or walk for short periods of time.

Field Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
