About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Transportation Systems Designer to join our team at GHD. As an Intermediate Designer, you will play a key role in the design of highways, freeways, and multi-modal corridors, working closely with our globally connected specialists to deliver complex transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the successful completion of roadway, highway, and freeway projects, and/or multi-modal corridors under the direction of senior staff.
  • Produce design work in an integrated 3D environment, focusing on quality and meeting or exceeding company and industry quality standards.
  • Apply technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Potential to act as a technical lead or lead drafter for a defined scope of work.
  • Potential to contact and coordinate with sub-disciplines and external agencies.
  • Supervise the performance of more junior team members.
Requirements
  • 3-8 years' experience in road systems and/or highway design.
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering.
  • MTO and/or Metrolinx experience is an asset but not required.
  • Interest or experience with new design tools and technologies such as BIM platforms, design programming, visualizations, and automation are considered assets.
  • Experience with Construction Administration & Inspection are considered assets.
