Primary Care Physician Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is looking for two dedicated Family Medicine Physicians to become part of a dynamic team comprising 5 Family Physicians, a Nurse Practitioner, and two Family Practice Nurses. This practice offers a full spectrum of medical services catering to patients across all age groups. The clinic features a duty clinic that is accessible to the public by appointment, ensuring comprehensive care.
The clinic is seamlessly integrated with the MedAccess EMR system and is supported by a robust administrative team, including 11 staff members, an Office Manager, and a Clinic Director. Billing assistance is available, along with EMR training if required. Our team consists of 21 healthcare providers working both full-time and part-time, with various specialties available within the clinic.
- Prenatal Care (by referral)
- Well Baby clinic (for unattached)
- Minor procedures (by referral)
- Psychiatry (by referral)
- Well Women's clinics (open to public)
- Cardiology (by referral)
- ECGs (by referral)
- Addiction services (3 providers, all addiction, by referral, some self-referral accepted for Opioids)
The responsibilities of the Family Physician include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting patient examinations and documenting medical histories, ordering diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures.
- Providing guidance on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consulting and referring patients to other medical professionals as necessary.
- Acting as an advocate for patients.
- Prescribing and administering medications, treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations.
- Reporting births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related matters in accordance with public health regulations.
Both full-time and part-time positions are available.
Qualifications- Eligibility for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
