Nova Scotia Health Authority's Student Health & Wellness Centre is seeking a family practice physician to join our team as the primary health care provider for an existing patient roster of community patients in addition to offering select student appointments.
Our Centre is committed to providing quality primary and mental health care services to promote and enhance both community and student patients' health.
The physician will work collaboratively with our interprofessional team of family physicians, family practice obstetricians, a nurse manager, and registered nurses, a psychiatrist, counsellors, and health promotion staff.
Our clinical team is supported by an experienced administrative staff who manage scheduling, reception, referrals, nursing office duties, along with all billing and health records functions.
25% of billings is charged as overhead and paid to the Centre.
Responsibilities- Ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.
- Be accountable for appropriate workload and practice.
- Work with other physicians in providing on-call service to clinic patients.
- Work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community's health needs.
- Operate within the Medical Services Agreement between Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dalhousie University.
- Utilize the Centre's shared electronic medical record (Accuro) to record all relevant patient details.
- FTE
- Physicians choose their own schedules with the operating hours of the Centre.
Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
Member of the Canadian Medical Protective Association.
