Job Summary: Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a full-time Family Medicine Physician to join our team of healthcare professionals in Halifax.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine patients and take their medical histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- Advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consult with and refer patients to other medical practitioners as needed
- Act as a patient advocate and provide support
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents as required by Nova Scotia Public Health
Work Environment:
- Permanent, full-time position
- No evening or weekend call
- Opportunity to work walk-in shifts if desired
Qualifications:
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
