Safety Consultant Job Description

At SPI Health and Safety, we are seeking a highly skilled Safety Consultant to join our team. As a Safety Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing customers with training and consulting services in health and safety to have a significant impact on the success of health and safety systems.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and update expertise in occupational health and safety
  • Conduct safety audits and hazard assessments on customer sites that comply with OHS regulations and industry best practices
  • Develop OHS documentation for customers, including audit reports, risk assessments, safe work procedures, OHS programs, and health and safety documents requested by customers
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of health and safety practices, assessments, and documents
  • Perform a variety of roles on site, including health and safety supervision, OHS support, and other related services
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and expertise
  • Travel by car or plane to customer sites in the region or out of town
Requirements
  • Diploma or certificate in occupational health and safety
  • Have one of the following certifications: ROH, CIH, CSP, or CRSP (an asset)
  • Experience as a health and safety Advisor
  • Experience in working at heights, in confined spaces, in lockout/tagout, and in developing health and safety procedures
  • Confident in your knowledge, but able to consider all points of view
