About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team at All can Doors & Hardware Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation of our machine shop, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality metal products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Develop and implement cost-effective strategies for material procurement and production planning.
  • Operate CADD and Computer Software Systems: Utilize computer-aided design and other software systems to optimize production processes and improve product quality.
  • Prepare Bids and Reports: Create detailed bids and reports to support business development and operational decision-making.
  • Coordinate and Schedule Activities: Oversee the daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring timely completion of projects and tasks.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Regulations: Implement and maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Supervise Workers and Projects: Lead and motivate a team of machine operators, ironworkers, sheet metal workers, and welders to achieve production goals.
  • Requisition and Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure necessary materials, equipment, and supplies to support production operations.
  • Set Up Machines and Equipment: Ensure all machines and equipment are properly maintained and set up for efficient production.
  • Use Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machines: Operate CNC machines to produce high-quality metal products.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a machine shop or production environment.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, attention to detail, and physical stamina to perform tasks.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, and ability to work under pressure.
