Job Summary:

The Machine Shop Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our machine shop, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This includes supervising a team of machine operators, ironworkers, sheet metal workers, and welders, as well as coordinating and scheduling activities, estimating costs and materials, and preparing bids and reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a team of 5-10 people, including ironworkers, machine operators, sheet metal workers, and welders.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities to ensure efficient production and meet deadlines.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects and prepare bids.
  • Prepare production and other reports as required.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in the machine shop.
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Set up machines and equipment for production.
  • Supervise workers and projects to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality products.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized and able to work under pressure.
  • Basic security clearance.
  • Own vehicle.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
  • Work under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
