About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Shop Supervisor to join our team at All can Doors & Hardware Inc. in a key leadership position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and Manage Costs: Develop and implement cost estimation and management strategies to ensure efficient production and minimize waste.
  • Operate Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software: Utilize CAD systems to design and optimize production processes, and to create detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare Bids and Proposals: Develop and submit bids and proposals to clients, highlighting the company's capabilities and value proposition.
  • Coordinate and Schedule Activities: Oversee the daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring that production schedules are met and that all tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Ensure Health and Safety Compliance: Develop and implement health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Supervise and Train Staff: Lead and mentor a team of machine operators, ironworkers, sheet metal workers, and welders to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Manage Inventory and Supplies: Oversee the procurement and inventory management of materials, equipment, and supplies to ensure that production needs are met.
  • Optimize Production Processes: Continuously monitor and improve production processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, manufacturing, or business.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: English.
