SUMMARY
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Warehouse Operations Team Leader is tasked with executing various responsibilities across warehouse functions such as order fulfillment, inventory replenishment, shipping, receiving, and inventory audits. In addition to performing diverse warehouse roles, the Team Leader will assist the supervisor in managing warehouse activities, ensuring that best practice protocols are understood and followed by all team members.
SHIFT: Monday to Friday 11am-7pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute multiple warehouse operations including receiving, order fulfillment, inventory replenishment, cycle counts, and shipping to ensure timely completion of daily objectives while meeting customer service expectations.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate the efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse.
  • Provide training and motivation to team members, ensuring tasks are completed safely, consistently, and effectively.
  • Offer peer support for on-the-job training of new employees.
  • Encourage adherence to approved warehouse operating procedures regarding equipment inspections, damage control, replenishment, cleanliness, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and inventory audits, escalating issues to the operations supervisor as necessary.
  • Lead daily shift briefings, addressing team member concerns proactively.
  • Propose and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the technical expert for workflow processes and RF scanning for team members.
  • Ensure immediate action on RF IT-related issues, including logging IT requests and following up.
  • Promote teamwork through effective two-way communication.
  • Assist the operations supervisor in monitoring daily productivity and quality targets.
  • Complete the Team Lead Daily Shift Report and review it with the operations supervisor before the end of the shift.
  • May be required to work various shifts during peak periods or to cover for absences to maintain customer service levels.
  • Oversee operations in the absence of the supervisor.
EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of warehouse experience operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a proven safety record.
  • Prior experience with RF-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.

EDUCATION:
  • Completion of a secondary school diploma is preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to engage in training and development programs as required.
  • A college diploma in Logistics Management is an asset.
CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Forklift Certification from a recognized training provider. Experience and certification in one or more of the following equipment types: Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, Counterbalance, and/or Walkie (MHE is site-specific).
