POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing all operational aspects during the assigned shift. This role encompasses leadership in health and safety protocols, operational efficiency, customer engagement, continuous improvement initiatives, and staff development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize labor requirements for the shift to ensure production targets are achieved within budgetary constraints.
- Conduct shift briefings to effectively communicate essential information to all team members.
- Delegate tasks to operators and warehouse personnel, monitoring task completion times and providing updates on expected completion.
- Prioritize order picking based on urgent shipments and key customer needs to minimize wait times for drivers.
- Ensure compliance with proper picking and packing protocols, holding team members accountable for meeting or exceeding quality standards.
- Track and report departmental performance metrics through effective KPI monitoring and data analysis.
- Approve labor hours daily in accordance with company policies, ensuring accurate record-keeping for employee payments and customer billing.
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to employees, conducting performance evaluations and managing disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Foster strong relationships with customers by maintaining open communication regarding service requirements.
- Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
- Fulfill supervisory responsibilities under applicable health and safety legislation.
- Undertake additional related duties as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (5) years in distribution, with experience in third-party logistics (3PL) being advantageous.
- At least two (2) years of supervisory experience, ideally within a 3PL operations context.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- A College Diploma in Business Management with a focus on Logistics Management is preferred, or equivalent experience.
