Position Overview

The Facilities Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing community welfare through effective management of housing projects. This position is essential in ensuring that safe and affordable housing options are available for individuals and families, particularly those with unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical guidance to senior leadership regarding procurement and property management services.
  • Oversee the management of capital projects and insurance claims, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Supervise maintenance personnel and coordinate with contractors to facilitate specialized maintenance and renovation tasks.
  • Ensure the efficient and safe installation of equipment while minimizing disruptions to tenants.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License without restrictions and access to a vehicle as needed.
  • Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and other relevant background checks.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the community and occasionally throughout the province.
  • Availability for standby duties during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A post-secondary degree or certificate in commercial construction or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing all phases of construction and facility-related projects.
  • Proven ability to lead and supervise staff effectively.
  • Experience in reviewing construction documents and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage diverse client groups.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a talent for managing multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current building codes and industry best practices, particularly in green construction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster client engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience in design, including familiarity with computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD.
