About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Manager to join our team at the Manitoba Government. As an Operating Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical advice to senior management, procurement services, and property services.
Key Responsibilities
- Project management of capital projects and insurance claims
- Supervising maintenance staff and coordinating and scheduling contractors to complete maintenance and specialized maintenance
- Renovation and reconstruction, technical repair work, and efficient and safe installation of equipment with minimum disruption to commercial and residential tenants
Requirements
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or certificate in commercial construction or a related field
- Experience coordinating and planning all phases of construction and facility-related projects
- Ability to supervise and lead staff
- Experience reviewing construction documentation and interpreting sketches and as-built drawings
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines
- Effective verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of clients
- Excellent written communication skills and ability to prepare written correspondence
- Knowledge of current Building Codes, legislation, and industry best practice related to Green construction practices
- Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to develop and maintain client engagement and ensure effective participation
- Experience using Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Desirable Qualifications
- Design experience, including experience with computer-assisted drafting software (AutoCAD)
