Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Resource Management Technician. As a key member of our Polar Bear Alert Program, you will be responsible for implementing daily operations, including hazing, setting up bear traps, and transporting polar bears to a holding facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the handling, mark-capture, and recording of biological data of polar bears
  • Provide public safety support in conjunction with Conservation Officers
  • Monitor a 24/7 emergency line
  • Provide navigation support to Conservation Officers
  • Conduct educational workshops and maintain equipment and infrastructure
Requirements
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Possess and maintain a valid Canadian Firearms License (PAL)
  • Possess and maintain a valid Manitoba class 5 driver's license
  • Must be willing to work weekends, overtime, and be on call
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the position
Qualifications
  • Experience with Problem Wildlife Control and/or trapping
  • Experience using rifles, shotguns, and safe storage of firearms and ammunition
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Experience in mechanical, carpentry, building maintenance, and minor repair of equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with wildlife biological sampling and data recording
  • Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR
