We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Resource Management Technician. As a key member of our Polar Bear Alert Program, you will be responsible for implementing daily operations, including hazing, setting up bear traps, and transporting polar bears to a holding facility.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the handling, mark-capture, and recording of biological data of polar bears
- Provide public safety support in conjunction with Conservation Officers
- Monitor a 24/7 emergency line
- Provide navigation support to Conservation Officers
- Conduct educational workshops and maintain equipment and infrastructure
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Possess and maintain a valid Canadian Firearms License (PAL)
- Possess and maintain a valid Manitoba class 5 driver's license
- Must be willing to work weekends, overtime, and be on call
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Experience with Problem Wildlife Control and/or trapping
- Experience using rifles, shotguns, and safe storage of firearms and ammunition
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Experience in mechanical, carpentry, building maintenance, and minor repair of equipment
- Experience with wildlife biological sampling and data recording
- Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR
