About the Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing exceptional mental health care within the Eastern Zone. Reporting to the Mental Health Services Manager functionally, and to the Mental Health Management team generally, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will utilize evidence-based and recovery-focused practices to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Your expertise will empower clients to maximize their functional abilities in daily life within a psycho-social rehabilitation framework.

You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary Mental Health Care Team and community partners, employing a holistic, client-centered approach. Your contributions will extend to initiating and facilitating mental health programs focused on prevention, early intervention, and addressing community needs.

About You

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following qualifications:

  • A Master's or Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration (or eligibility) with the College of Occupational Therapists Nova Scotia (COTNS)
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or concurrent substance abuse challenges is an asset
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and a passion for supporting client recovery
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
