We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our Mental Health Services team, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based and recovery-based practice to clients who present with concerns related to their mental health and wellness.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a client's individual needs to assist them in maximizing their function in everyday life. This will involve collaborating with a Mental Health Care Team and community partners/organizations to provide holistic, client/family-centered care.
The Occupational Therapist will also be required to participate in initiating and facilitating mental health programs for health promotion and disease prevention, early identification and intervention, and assessments of community needs.

About YouWe are looking for a candidate with:
- A Master's or Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
- Registration (or eligibility) with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
- Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or concurrent substance abuse disorders an asset
- Certificate in Psycho-Social Rehabilitation in Practice or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CPR, First Aid, and WHMIS or willingness to obtain
- Demonstrated flexibility in utilizing professional skill sets in a variety of service delivery models and settings
- Ability to use a client-centered approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of and ability to operate word processing applications, electronic mail, spreadsheets, and the internet
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and be accountable for all actions and decisions
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to People Services before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment
This is a Permanent Full-time (100%) Position with 75.00 Hours Bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $42.68 Hourly.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
