Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Halvar Jonson Centre for Brain Injury. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-informed services to patients with acquired brain injury.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement client-centered treatment programs for patients with acquired brain injury.
  • Direct the work of therapy assistants assigned to help manage your caseload.
  • Collaborate with clients and families to determine, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation goals.
  • Participate in interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich support, and engage in quality improvement.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and professional community through peer mentoring, supervising students, and providing clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides.
Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Canadian and Alberta Associations of Occupational Therapists.
  • Greater than 6 months experience in working in neurology, with stroke and brain-injured patients.
  • CPR certification - BLS for Health Care Providers Level C.
  • Three years' clinical experience in rehabilitation services using a client-centered approach is preferred.
