Global Functions Technology (GFT) operates within RBC's Technology and Operations division. GFT plays a crucial role as we partner with various departments across the organization to provide cutting-edge and transformative IT solutions. Our stakeholders encompass Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. We also spearhead the creation of digital tools and platforms to foster collaboration.

This position focuses on the technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. It requires extensive knowledge, skills, and practices to execute complex tasks. As a Workday Integration Specialist, you will collaborate with technical, functional, business, and vendor teams across RBC to implement the HCM Program (i.e., Plan, Architect, Build, Test, and Deploy).

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with HR teams, senior stakeholders, business management, QA, developers, and third-party vendors regularly to ensure the timely completion of deliverables within the HCM program and Workday Sustainment.

Technical Analysis and Consulting

  • Evaluate and analyze integration requirements, current state environments, and technology platforms to propose solutions that fulfill functional integration needs across the Workday ecosystem, including future HCM solutions and various internal/external systems.
  • As an Integration Developer, concentrate on creating integration solutions that ensure successful deployment utilizing diverse integration technologies, tools, and services.
  • Establish strong, sustainable relationships with business and functional teams by engaging in workshops to gather their needs and understand their expectations that align with business requirements.
  • Identify technical challenges and risks, defining mitigation strategies in collaboration with delivery and operations teams.
  • Work with affected groups to coordinate integration across systems.
  • Participate in detailed design sessions to identify, track, and resolve issues related to integration design and build.
  • Understand integration interdependencies and address issues arising from those dependencies.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and new functionalities related to Workday integration and other relevant domains.

Planning, Implementation & Support

  • Assist in managing integration deliverables associated with the HCM project and Workday Implementation.
  • Collaborate closely with the QA team to clarify integration design, architecture, and functionalities while overseeing testing use cases.
  • Identify blockers and track issues and risks, working with the PMO and other team members to address them.
  • Contribute feedback on project implementation plans and support requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Make informed decisions regarding when to push back, escalate, and make balanced judgments based on requirements.
  • Drive the Change Request process specific to integration.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the functional domain to analyze the impact of functional Change Requests on integrations.
  • Provide forward-thinking technical leadership for integration design and development with an understanding of current and future operational models.
  • Identify and resolve issues using platforms such as Workday Community.

Relationships & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with HRCT Architects and Lead Architect to ensure alignment with business and technology strategies with a focus on integration.
  • Communicate effectively and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interfacing groups using various techniques and collaborative efforts from initiation to closure.
  • Facilitate meetings of varying sizes for technical design/architecture, decision-making, problem-solving, and task implementation.
  • Resolve technical conflicts/issues and escalate to appropriate parties as necessary.

Development & Coaching

  • Act as a team leader, facilitating knowledge transfer sessions and providing daily direction, expertise, feedback, coaching, and development to enhance the capabilities of junior staff.
  • Continuously improve skills and expand knowledge in all aspects of the organization, business, and information systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Workday Integration and IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Workday Implementation and Support.
  • 3-5 years of experience within the Workday Ecosystem.
  • Previous experience leading a team of Integration Developers.
