Position Overview

Role Summary

This position is pivotal in guiding the technical architecture and development of comprehensive, cross-functional application systems. The individual will leverage extensive expertise and skills to tackle intricate assignments. As a Workday Integration Specialist, you will collaborate with both technical and functional teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure the successful execution of the Human Capital Management (HCM) Program.

Key Responsibilities

Engage with HR teams, senior leadership, business management, quality assurance, developers, and third-party vendors regularly to ensure timely completion of deliverables within the HCM program and Workday support.

Technical Analysis and Consulting

  • Evaluate and analyze integration requirements, current technology landscape, and platforms to propose solutions that fulfill functional integration needs across the Workday ecosystem, including future HCM solutions and various internal/external systems.
  • As an Integration Developer, concentrate on creating integration solutions that guarantee successful deployment using diverse integration technologies and services.
  • Establish robust, sustainable relationships with business and functional teams by participating in workshops to gather their needs and understand their objectives, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Identify technical challenges and risks, defining mitigation strategies in collaboration with delivery and operations teams.
  • Coordinate with impacted groups to ensure seamless integration across systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to utilize specialized skills effectively and share integration knowledge across the team.
  • Participate in detailed design sessions to identify, track, and resolve integration design/build issues.
  • Maintain awareness of integration interdependencies and address issues arising from these dependencies.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and new functionalities related to Workday integration and other relevant domains.

Planning, Implementation & Support

  • Actively participate in Global Design Workshops to raise concerns or provide insights as necessary.
  • Assist in managing integration deliverables associated with the HCM project and Workday implementation.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to gather enterprise-level integration requirements, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Work closely with the QA team to communicate integration design, architecture, and functionalities while managing testing scenarios.
  • Monitor issues and risks, collaborating with the PMO and other team members to address them.
  • Serve as a Workday advocate in implementing changes and rolling out new features to local teams.
  • Provide feedback on project implementation plans and support requirements.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team for issue resolution, testing, deployment, and ongoing payroll support.
  • Exhibit vendor management skills and know when to involve the appropriate parties.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Take initiative and ownership, focusing on delivering solutions that benefit all stakeholders.
  • Make informed decisions about when to escalate issues and how to balance requirements effectively.
  • Drive the change request process specific to integration.
  • Possess a solid understanding of the functional domain to assess the impact of functional change requests on integrations.
  • Provide forward-thinking technical leadership for integration design and development, considering current and future operational models.
  • Identify and resolve issues using platforms such as Workday Community.

Relationships & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with HRCT Architects and Lead Architect to ensure alignment with business and technology strategies focused on integration.
  • Communicate effectively and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interfacing groups using various techniques throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate meetings for technical design, decision-making, problem-solving, and task implementation.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to business and technology partners, tailoring the approach based on the audience.
  • Resolve technical conflicts and escalate issues as appropriate.

Development & Coaching

  • Act as a team leader.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and provide daily direction, expertise, feedback, coaching, and development to enhance the capabilities of junior staff.
  • Continuously improve skills and knowledge across all aspects of the organization, business, and information systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Workday Integration and IT infrastructure.
  • Be willing to expand expertise and obtain Workday certifications in relevant domains.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Workday Implementation and Support.
  • 3-5 years of experience within the Workday Ecosystem.
  • Proven experience leading a team of Integration Developers.
