About the Role:

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Associate to join our team. As a key member of our production engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for the manufacturing team, providing assistance in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical manufacturing issues.
  • Create and maintain documentation to support manufacturing changes, including assembly procedures, work instructions, and manufacturing execution system (MES) authoring.
  • Attend and participate in daily cell standup meetings, providing responses and updates on manufacturing activities.
  • Participate in daily cell material review board (MRB) meetings, supporting the closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs) and disposition of non-conforming material.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures for WESCAM products, including the creation of process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), statistical process control (SPC), first pass approval (FPA), control plans, tooling, and test procedures.
  • Review change requests generated by engineering and production staff, assessing their impact on process, product flow, product quality, and documentation, and implementing changes as required.
  • Present manufacturing engineering activities at cell sustaining update meetings on a monthly basis.
  • Conduct 8D root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Support the translation of product specifications from engineering to manufacturing procedures.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives and projects.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing engineering experience in a high-tech assembly environment.
  • Strong technical communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Able to troubleshoot and problem-solve manufacturing issues in real-time.
  • Well-organized, goal-oriented, and detail-focused.
  • Able to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the organization.
  • Able to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience using SolidWorks, Composer, and AutoCAD is an asset.

Education and Experience:

  • University degree or 3-year college diploma in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years of work experience in a manufacturing engineering capacity or new graduate.
  • Green Belt Certification or equivalent industry lean experience is an asset.
