Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

At Kepler Communications, we are on an exciting journey of growth, supported by a solid foundation of early adopters and our initial fleet of satellites successfully in orbit. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to contribute to the evolution of our manufacturing methodologies, processes, and to integrate industry-leading practices in the design and assembly of space systems, payloads, and satellites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams during the hardware development phase.
  • Support the new product development and introduction processes.
  • Establish comprehensive manufacturing, assembly, and integration documentation.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on manufacturing systems and processes for space hardware production.
  • Serve as the liaison between engineering, production, and quality assurance regarding hardware manufacturability and testing.
  • Engage in engineering design reviews, providing constructive feedback and innovative solutions.
  • Lead the transition of designs to production for electro-mechanical assemblies from research and development settings.
  • Analyze production workflows, design production layouts, and develop effective assembly and integration methods, tools, fixtures, and configurations.
  • Assist in creating manufacturing and testing workflows, work instructions, and traceability documentation.
  • Design or oversee the creation of custom tools or fixtures to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Support capital requisitions and conduct return on investment analyses for manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with material handling, kitting, assembly, inspection, and routing processes.
  • Proficient in CAD software for reviewing designs and creating parts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Experience in product failure investigations and corrective action implementations.
  • Background in the space, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of RF hardware or RF testing equipment.
  • Exposure to Industrial Engineering principles.
