Job Summary: The Assistant Engineering Manager will oversee all aspects of engineering, program management, and the Metal Forming Specialist (MFS) program for Godspeed Workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Lead the launch of tooling and machinery programs, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and quality departments to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Establish and manage a preventive maintenance program for all equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Develop and maintain a spare part program for production equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective replacement.
  • Initiate maintenance and repairs as required, preparing justifications for proposal for major repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records regarding equipment and servicing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure safe working procedures and good housekeeping practices are always adhered to, promoting a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, including interim and end-target estimates, to ensure timely completion.
  • Establish clear duties and responsibilities for positions directly reporting to the Assistant Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure the department is staffed with competent personnel, identifying, developing, and utilizing their skills and abilities.
  • Serve as Environmental Contract Review Coordinator on the ISO 14001 Core Team, interacting with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for environmental impacts of new business and equipment, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Serve as Internal Auditor for the ISO 14001 program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Establish Metal Forming Specialist (MFS) program expectations, communicate to the team, and ensure adequate work experience and education are provided for MFS associates to succeed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or minimum 5 years of work experience in tooling, automotive manufacturing, and engineering fields.
  • Skilled Trades Certificate with or minimum 5 years of work experience in the automotive manufacturing field.
  • Understanding of stamping and manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14000, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
