Job Summary

Island Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Subspecialty Lead to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development of clinical standards and guidelines for our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Clinical Standards Development: Collaborate with our clinical teams to develop and implement standardized documentation requirements and clinical assessment tools.
  • Harmonize Order Sets: Work with our ordering provider group to harmonize order sets for use in both paper-based and computerized provider order entry (CPOE) systems.
  • Ensure Quality and Safety: Ensure that our EHR system meets clinical workflow requirements and best practice standards, particularly in areas such as orders and results management, referral management, and transitions in care.
  • Contribute to Evaluation and Improvement: Participate in the evaluation of our EHR system and related systems, providing feedback and insights to inform future development and improvement.
Requirements
  • Strong Clinical Knowledge: Possess a deep understanding of clinical standards and guidelines, as well as experience working with EHR systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively with clinical teams, ordering provider groups, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address clinical and technical issues.
