About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Consultant to join our Property Large Loss team at Intact. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex claims, providing expert advice, and ensuring seamless communication with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and investigate large and complex commercial property claims, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Engage with internal and external experts, including counsel, consultants, and adjusters, to determine liability and assess damages.
- Mentor and guide regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance colleagues' skills in complex claims handling.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and other stakeholders to identify potential risks and trends.
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
- Deliver and exceed key performance indicators related to loss development, loss adjustment expenses, and expense management.
- Effectively negotiate claims and attend settlement conferences and trials as needed.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and negotiate effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Undergraduate degree or CIP designation (asset).
- Flexible to travel as needed.
