We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Specialist - Property to join our team at Definity. As a Claims Specialist - Property, you will be responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving large or complex property losses, including losses of a suspicious nature, from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and evaluate property losses to determine the extent of damage and liability.
- Develop and implement strategies to resolve claims in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including SIU and SDQP teams, to ensure seamless claim processing.
- Process claims payments within authorized limits, verifying claimant entitlement and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities to maximize recoveries.
- Train junior adjusters on claim investigation and resolution techniques.
- Perform other claims-related tasks as assigned.
- 10+ years of experience handling commercial and personal property claims, with a proven track record of resolving large, complex claims.
- Strong understanding of personal and commercial wordings, including policy coverage and liability.
- University degree from any discipline or college diploma in a relevant field, with a minimum of two years of study at a provincially recognized and funded community college.
- Atlantic Licensing is an asset.
