Property Loss Claims Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Consultant to join our Property Large Loss team at Intact. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex claims, analyzing data, and providing expert advice to ensure seamless claim resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and investigate large and complex commercial property claims, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including counsel, consultants, and adjusters, to confirm coverage and determine liability.
- Mentor and guide regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance colleagues' skills in complex claims handling.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Loss Prevention, and other stakeholders to identify potential risks and trends.
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues.
- Meet and exceed key performance indicators related to loss development, loss adjustment expenses, and claims leakage control.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities, with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Appropriate knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position.
- Undergraduate degree or CIP designation (asset).
