Strategic Vice President

ORBCOMM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Vice President to lead our Satellite Line of Business. This key role will report directly to our EVP GM Satellite IoT and be based in Ottawa, ON.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning and Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the Satellite Line of Business, aligning with the company's vision and mission.
- Business Acumen: Apply good business sense to define business cases for investment, highlighting extracted value (ROI) and execute towards the plan.
- Market Analysis: Identify and evaluate emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive threats to inform business decisions.
- Product Roadmap: Develop a comprehensive product plan that incorporates customer, partner, and industry requirements.
- Business Development: Identify and assess new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive growth.
- KPI Development: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
- Process Optimization: Ensure continuous improvement and optimization of business processes.
- Customer Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with strategic customers to understand market requirements and assess competitive risks and opportunities.
- Business Acumen: Strong business sense with knowledge of profit/loss, EBITDA, recurring revenue, and more.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of product management or equivalent experience delivering software, software as a service, hardware products, satellite technology, preferably related to the Internet-of-Things (IoT).
- Leadership: Minimum of 7 years of product, program, and/or project management experience leading cross-functional teams in the delivery of major new products or services.
- Domain Expertise: Ideally deep domain experience in Internet of Things as it applies to shipping, ports, and related.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly negotiate and reach consensus across diverse groups/teams.
- Collaboration: Collaborative working style and ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Self-Starter: Energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills.
