This pivotal role will report directly to the Senior Vice-President of External Relations and will be instrumental in articulating and executing engagement strategies that align with our business goals.
As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in crafting an external communications framework aimed at engaging media and stakeholders effectively. The selected candidate will ensure uniform messaging and foster relationships with essential stakeholders and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a leading voice in defining and establishing communication, public affairs, and engagement strategies that align with project priorities and objectives.
- Ensure that strategies are in harmony with business objectives and collaborate with various teams.
- Oversee the execution of integrated communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Assist in stakeholder mapping initiatives.
- Participate in developing communication protocols for stakeholders, including responses to inquiries.
- Draft and oversee the creation of press materials, fact sheets, talking points, press releases, speeches, and reports.
- Guarantee consistent messaging dissemination to all internal and external employees and partners.
- Develop and maintain an effective crisis management strategy.
- Recommend and create performance metrics to assess and monitor the effectiveness of communication and engagement strategies.
- Act as the liaison between the team and the public relations agency.
- Contribute to the execution of the stakeholder engagement plan, emphasizing project delivery excellence and adherence to strategic plans.
- Identify and collaborate with additional stakeholders and leaders impacting the project.
- Formulate stakeholder engagement strategies and risk mitigation plans during pursuit processes and negotiations.
Qualifications:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in communications, media relations, and public affairs.
- Understanding of the political landscape related to infrastructure.
- Proven experience in government and stakeholder relations.
- Background in crisis and issue management.
- Expertise in media relations, social media, and public affairs.
- Proficient in both English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic mindset for developing integrated communication and engagement plans.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior management.
- Capacity to critically assess processes and proactively develop innovative solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple urgent projects simultaneously and adapt to evolving environments.
- Strong organizational skills and focus on priorities.
- Experience in a large corporation with national or international operations.
- Attention to detail and a diligent work ethic.
