Key Responsibilities

We are in search of a seasoned and highly driven Senior Vice President of Delivery to spearhead our intricate, organization-wide modernization initiative. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of legacy modernization projects within Canadian Tire Corporation. This position demands a profound comprehension of program management methodologies and tactics.

In collaboration with our Business and IT partners, you will:

  • Define project objectives, timelines, and success metrics to ensure alignment with corporate goals and the aims of the Capability Management Office (CMO).
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including business units, IT departments, and executive leadership, to comprehend business needs and align them with the modernization strategy.
  • Communicate program updates, advantages, and risks clearly and succinctly to drive stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive legacy modernization roadmaps, adhering to established guiding principles that take into account business priorities, technical limitations, resource availability, and risk management.
  • Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders involved in legacy modernization initiatives.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with legacy systems and propose innovative solutions for effective mitigation.
  • Monitor program performance metrics, analyze data, and make informed decisions to enhance program results.
  • Promote a collaborative work atmosphere by fostering strong relationships among team members and encouraging knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to program management and legacy modernization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Technology fields; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Technology project or program management roles, with a focus on legacy system modernization being advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, particularly in leading large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams towards successful outcomes.
  • Familiarity with one or more operational areas of the business relevant to the modernization efforts is beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Some knowledge of legacy systems (mainframes, AS/400) and the challenges related to their modernization.
  • Proven history of successfully guiding large-scale projects from inception to completion.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think strategically while executing tactically.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.
  • SAFe certification and project management certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
