Job Overview
We are in search of a seasoned and driven AVP, Delivery to spearhead a comprehensive modernization initiative across our organization. This pivotal role entails the management of planning, coordination, and execution of legacy modernization projects. A profound grasp of program management methodologies and strategies is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT partners to establish project objectives, timelines, and success metrics, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Engage stakeholders effectively by providing clear and concise updates on program progress, benefits, and potential risks.
- Develop and implement detailed modernization roadmaps that reflect business priorities, technical limitations, resource availability, and risk management strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders involved in legacy modernization efforts.
- Identify and address risks and challenges associated with legacy systems, proposing innovative solutions for effective mitigation.
- Monitor program performance metrics, analyze relevant data, and utilize insights to enhance program results.
- Encourage a collaborative atmosphere by fostering strong relationships among team members and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to program management and legacy modernization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Technology. A Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of experience in technology project or program management, with a focus on legacy system modernization preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in program management, particularly in leading large-scale initiatives.
- Strong leadership capabilities to influence and motivate cross-functional teams towards achieving program objectives.
- Familiarity with operational areas of the business involved in modernization efforts is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of legacy systems (e.g., mainframes, AS/400) and the challenges tied to their modernization.
- Proven success in managing large-scale projects from inception to completion.
- Outstanding problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills, with a tactical execution focus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical teams.
- Certifications such as SAFe, PMP, or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
