Home and Community Care Support Services is seeking Temporary Full-time Rehabilitation Assistants to join our dedicated team. We are committed to delivering healthcare that prioritizes the needs of patients and their families. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of this care philosophy and possess a keen attention to detail, as well as excellent time management abilities. Proficiency in both official languages is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Patient Engagement

  • Execute treatment plans for patients under the guidance of a licensed physiotherapist.
  • Assist registered therapists with patient evaluations and therapeutic programs, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the relevant professional colleges.
  • Utilize organizational platforms to receive clinical guidance from supervising therapists to implement treatment strategies.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of patient interactions in compliance with organizational policies and professional standards.
  • Regularly consult with registered therapists to review treatment plans and assess patient progress.
  • Encourage patient independence within their homes and communities to facilitate reintegration.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and guidelines regarding the use of support personnel.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment by following established safety protocols and reporting any concerns.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited 2-year diploma program for Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Certification recognized by the relevant professional colleges is mandatory.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting as an Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy Assistant within the last two years.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with registered therapists and follow directions during patient interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse patient populations.
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license are required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Relevant experience in assisting registered therapists in a healthcare environment.
  • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of occupational and physiotherapy professionals.
  • Familiarity with rehabilitation principles and clinical terminology.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in documentation and administrative tasks, including the use of office equipment and software.
