As a Specialist in Canadian Responsible Management and Product Compliance, you will collaborate closely with the compliance and management teams located in the United States, acting as a vital link between various departments including business, legal, and research and development teams across North America.

This role positions you as the Canadian authority within the North American team, working alongside diverse business units.

Your responsibilities will include guiding each business segment in effectively managing documentation related to product regulations and responsible management, addressing market-specific needs, and fostering the sharing of best practices throughout North America, with a particular focus on compliance in Canada. This will enhance the overall responsible management and compliance efforts at Saint-Gobain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to North American entities regarding adherence to regulations such as WHMIS, OSHA, EPA, REACH, and Prop 65.
  • Work alongside new product development teams to incorporate human health, environmental compliance, and sustainability criteria.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of policies and procedures to guarantee product regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as a business partner and expert to shape business strategies and enhance understanding of regulatory obligations.
  • Support business units in addressing customer inquiries, regulatory documentation, and related tasks.
  • Collaborate with business groups to ensure ongoing evaluations of product responsible management practices.
  • Leverage technology to assess and select safer chemical alternatives.
  • Provide regulatory assistance to research and development teams and business units.
  • Support the creation of safety data sheets and directory software for businesses.
  • Gather product and supplier data while ensuring the confidentiality of business information.
  • Contribute to the selection of materials, products, and suppliers that meet safety and sustainability standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental sciences, sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in responsible product management and compliance, with a focus on regulatory and risk management.
  • 1-3 years of experience in drafting health statements, data collection, safety data sheet reviews, and documentation writing.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Canadian regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, computer literacy, and database management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a results-driven mindset.
  • Bilingual in English and French is required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for training and professional engagements.
