About the Role:

The Product Compliance Specialist will work closely with the Product Management and Compliance teams at Saint-Gobain Group to ensure the company's products meet regulatory requirements in Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide regulatory guidance to North American businesses on compliance with regulations such as the SIMDUT, CCHST, EPA, REACH, and Prop 65.
  • Collaborate with Product Development teams to integrate human health, environmental compliance, and sustainability requirements into new products.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance of products.
  • Act as a commercial partner and expert to influence business strategy and improve knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Support businesses in managing customer requests, regulatory documentation, etc.
  • Work closely with business teams to ensure regular reviews of product responsible management practices.
  • Use software tools to evaluate and select safer chemicals.
  • Provide regulatory support to the Research and Development team and businesses.
  • Support businesses with software for creating and maintaining product safety data sheets.
  • Collect product and supplier data while preserving commercial confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the selection of materials, products, and suppliers that meet safety and sustainability standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product responsible management and compliance, particularly in regulatory management and risk management.
  • 1-3 years of experience in writing safety data sheets, data collection, reviewing safety data sheets, and document writing.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Canadian regulatory compliance.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, computer, and database management skills.
  • Attention to detail, results-oriented.
  • Bilingualism in English and French required.
  • Availability to travel up to 10% of the time for training and professional meetings.
