Our state-of-the-art bakery spans 110,000 square feet and is staffed by 200 dedicated professionals who craft delightful desserts for a wide range of clients across North America and beyond. We are currently seeking a Food Scientist (Product Development) to enhance our product offerings.

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (flexibility as needed), Monday to Friday

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 (annually)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and enhance existing products while adhering to all relevant processes
  • Create and maintain product specifications, standard operating procedures, formulations, processes, and cost analysis
  • Plan, organize, execute, and oversee plant trials
  • Manage the collection, labeling, packaging, and distribution of product samples
  • Oversee nutritional analysis and shelf-life studies
  • Evaluate competitive products and compile reports on findings
  • Coordinate the sourcing, testing, and documentation of new ingredients
  • Conduct research and development on new ingredients, packaging, and processing techniques
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, food safety standards, and certification requirements
  • Stay informed on technological advancements, new ingredients, and industry trends
  • Collaborate on team projects and work effectively with colleagues
  • Plan and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a bakery or culinary setting.
  • Strong communication and project management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and creative thinking.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline (B.Sc preferred).
  • 4-7 years of experience in Product Development or R&D within Food Manufacturing.
